As part of the countdown coverage for the 2012 Olympics, the 1979 Clash hit ‘London Calling’ was selected by the London Tourist Board to advertise the up-and-coming event. Inevitably, questions arose over the iconic punk track’s suitability for representing the shiny jewel in the crown of all the world’s sporting events.
Over the last twelve months, the majority of stories in the press about UK Government spending have been focused around austerity and budget cuts. Nevertheless, I was pleased to hear of David Cameron’s pledge of £814m ($1.3bn) to assist the initiative to provide an immunisation for children in poorer countries.
In really excited because the Beastie Boys have just premiered their new video for ‘Make Some Noise’ and their album ‘Hot Sauce Committee Part 2’ hits UK shops on May 2. The album has been a while coming due to Adam Yauch’s battle with cancer but it doesn’t appear to have slowed them down.
